James Scott Downing, CFP®

Scott is a Senior Financial Advisor and Partner at MCF, based in the Lexington office. He joined the firm in 2015 and has been in the financial services industry since 2006. Prior to MCF, he worked for an independent planning firm in Lexington and began his career at Vanguard’s High Net-Worth Retirement division in Malvern, PA. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Originally from Maysville, KY, Scott lives in Lexington’s Hamburg area with his wife, Allison, and their twin son and daughter. He serves as Board President for The Lexington Dream Factory, is a graduate and past chair of Leadership Lexington, and volunteers with Southland Christian Church. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf.
